Blu Cig Review | Quit Smoking Comparison

Blu Cig Review

Review: Ok, here’s the latest on our Blu Cig review site. For consumers, this has been one of the most troublesome companies in the industry today. Many commenters on this site have said the same. Unfortunately, for these and other reasons, we are no longer recommending this product. While Blu Cig seems to be one of the older and more marketed products, their customer service has been extremely poor, from initial shipping to product defects – including a battery recall.

Users often opt for Blu Cig because it comes with an extremely convenient “Blu Pack,” a novel wireless charging system that actually looks like a regular cigarette pack and fits right in your pocket. But the novelty of this equipment doesn’t really matter if you can’t get replacement cartridges in a timely manner. Moreover, as we have calculated below, cartridges from Blu Cig are pricier than most of the other e-cigs we reviewed.

While it’s too early to call Blu Cig a scam operation, we have our suspicions. So after about 6 months of recommending Blu Cig, we can no longer do so and also maintain this site’s reputation. Instead, we recommend checking out our #1 electronic cigarette recommendation: Green Smoke, or the very economical #2 brand SmokeTip.

Taste: Pulling really hard from the Blu Cig may cause a little liquid to come through instead of vapor, but users have commented that it has an overall smooth delivery.

Cartridge Value: Not great – here’s the math:

Battery Value: The newer battery has performance equivalent to most electronic cigarettes on the market (about 2 cartridges).

Results: As I said above, we are no longer recommending Blu Cig. Before you buy this, check out our below review of Green Smoke.

Hey, Just got my Blu Cig starter kit and am very disappointed. I hope you warn people about this company. They took 3 weeks to ship my product which was supposed to come in a week. And I already ran out of the replacement cartridges, and don’t want to wait another month for them but may try to order anyway. HORRIBLE COMPANY!

I have been waiting for about 3 weeks for my starter kit to arrive. Could you please notify the company about this?

Hi Garrit,

I wrote to them but I guess they say there aren’t any problems here. It is little consolation I’m sure, but we changed the review to reflect yours and other writers’ concerns. Hope everything works out.

I’ve been on blu for about a week, and although I have had numerous problems with the atomizers, batteries, etc… and had to read all kinds of tips/tricks/mods forum posts to fix them, I have spent a week away from cigarettes. first time in 15 years. they taste great, but the batteries last 30 mins and the atomizers last maybe a week. gonna try smoke tip.

A lot of people think of the electric cigarette as a stop smoking device. For me, smoking electric cigarettes has made smoking more enjoyable and has removed some of the downside and even made it somewhat cheaper – so it hasn’t done much to help me quit – al least I’m not getting so many chemicals, tar and other bad stuff.

Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!

Your articles are awesome. Keep up the good work. I visit your blog all the time.

Ordered my Starter Kit on Thursday (July 15th), it showed shipped on Friday morning and on received it yesterday (July 20th.) After having read so many horror/long wait stories that have been floating around on the internets (!) I was worried worried and worried some more. Not now, I ordered an V-ecig from Volcanoecigs because I read that it was a rebranded Blu and well, it was. Thus far I do not feel as if I have been scammed, I get lots of vapor and yeah the cartidges do eventually run dry. Didn’t care too much for the cherry flavored cart (tasted like a light Vicks cough drop)
nor the Menthol (think chocolate covered mint) but again, I feel as if I got what I paid for. I won’t be purchasing carts from them because yeah, they’re expensive – I prefer liberty-flights and getvapure e-liquids. Not too keen on the USB charger just yet (thankfully I can use the volcanoe) because it doesn’t seem to consistently charge – I can charge and it’ll show being fully charged and yet when I put the batt back into the blu battery charger it shows that it needs to be charged! Let’s see what happens when I attempt to take them up on their one year warranty…
